What is the difference between proofreading and editing?

Proofreading only fixes orthographic, grammatical, and typographic mistakes. This includes:

spelling
grammar
punctuation
consistent spelling
correct hyphenation
typography (quotation marks, apostrophes, hyphens, dashes, etc.)

Our eins-zu-eins editing goes into much further detail, also examining and improving your writing in terms of style and use of language.
Depending on the text type and tailored to your specifications and editing guidelines, we employ a further two-stages of editing in addition to the proofreading in order to take care of:
